Hanes Australasia’s parent company, HanesBrands Inc. which is headquartered in North Carolina, U.S.A., call our commitment to environmental stewardship, workplace quality, community building and business results, Hanes for Good. With our management of energy, carbon emissions, water, wastewater, chemicals, solid waste and recycled materials worldwide, we report our progress annually. We’re also passionate about our use of energy from renewable sources and have been recognised by the U.S. Energy Star program for nine consecutive years.
Hanes is a founding member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, which was the first leading apparel manufacturer to join The Sustainability Consortium and is one of only four apparel companies to become a member of the Corporate Eco Forum.
In 2017, Hanes recycled more than 118 million pounds of fabric-cut parts, corrugate, plastic and other materials. In 2010, we established Green for Good – a unique philanthropic effort that takes environmentalism to the next level by combining it with community improvement and volunteerism. Since the program’s inception, more than 11,000 employees have donated over 420,000 hours to complete nearly 70 distinct projects supported by $2.5 million in company funding. Projects have included school and hospital refurbishments, medical clinics, clean water projects, tree plantings and beach clean-ups.
